NYC Benefits Resources

Monthly benefits provided on an EBT card to help low-income families and individuals purchase eligible food items at authorized retailers. As of May 2025, temporary increases in benefit amounts related to the public health emergency have ended, and standard eligibility rules are in effect.

Eligibility: Low-income based on federal guidelines and household size, New York State resident. Certain non-citizens who meet specific criteria may also be eligible.

New York City's largest food rescue organization, delivering free food to a network of food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community partners across all five boroughs. Visit their website for the pantry locator and operating hours, which may vary.

Located at 123 Main Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201, this local food pantry provides groceries to residents of the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please bring proof of Brooklyn residency.

Provides hot, nutritious meals to individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in the Bowery neighborhood of Manhattan. Breakfast is served daily at 8:00 AM, lunch at 12:00 PM, and dinner at 6:00 PM.

A community-run refrigerator located at 456 Elm Avenue, Long Island City, Queens, offering free, fresh produce and other food items available to anyone in need, 24/7. Donations are welcome.

A network of community fridges and pantries located throughout the Mott Haven neighborhood in the Bronx, aiming to combat food insecurity at the local level. Check their social media for current locations and hours.

Located at 123 Ferry Street, Staten Island, this soup kitchen provides free hot meals to individuals and families in need. Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
