Government-sponsored health insurance for eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant individuals, seniors, and people with disabilities. Enrollment is ongoing throughout 2025.

Eligibility: Low-income based on household size, New York State resident. Recent expansions in eligibility now include higher income limits for certain categories.

Child Health Plus

Low-cost or free comprehensive healthcare coverage for children under the age of 19 in New York State, regardless of immigration status. Enrollment is open year-round.

Age: Up to 19 years. Income eligibility levels have been updated for 2025; families with higher incomes may now qualify for subsidized plans.

NYC Care

A healthcare access program for New Yorkers who cannot afford or are ineligible for health insurance. Provides access to primary care, mental health services, and more at NYC Health + Hospitals facilities. As of Spring 2025, dental services are being expanded.

Eligibility: NYC resident, not eligible for or cannot afford other insurance. Enrollment events are being held across Manhattan in May and June 2025.

Brooklyn Free Clinic

Volunteer-run clinic offering free primary and specialty medical care to uninsured Brooklyn residents. Appointment availability may vary; new patient intake sessions are held twice a month.

Eligibility: Uninsured Brooklyn resident with limited income. Check their website for upcoming intake dates in May 2025.

Emergency Medicaid

Provides coverage for emergency medical services for individuals who meet certain income and resource requirements but may not meet immigration status requirements for regular Medicaid. Information sessions are being held at Elmhurst Hospital in May 2025.

Eligibility: Specific income and residency requirements apply. Must have an emergency medical condition.

Federally Qualified Health Center offering a range of primary and preventive care services, regardless of ability to pay. They have expanded their telehealth services in 2025.

Eligibility: Open to all Bronx residents. Offers a sliding fee scale for those without insurance.

Helps eligible Staten Island residents access affordable prescription medications. Application workshops are scheduled for late May 2025 at the Stapleton Library.
